About the Loft
Consisting of three different buildings combined into one, the iconic Toy Factory Lofts by Lanterra Developments is one of the most desirable lofts in the city. The conversion was completed in 2008 and has 213 units, with an interesting mix of both hard and soft lofts, many having private balconies or terraces. This original former Irwin Toy Factory built around the turn of the 20th century features steel beamed ceilings, Douglas fir posts and exposed brick. The soft lofts have ceiling heights up to 17 feet, exposed concrete and some with large private rooftop terraces. And all in the heart of Liberty Village.
About Liberty Village
In the late 1700s and early 1800s the area now known as Liberty Village was part of the Garrison Common —a military fortification for the Town of York (which would later become Toronto). The arrival of the railway to this area in the 1850s attracted industry, which in turn led to the building of warehouses and factories.
