Garment Factory Lofts was converted by Atria Development in 2008. 233 Carlaw Avenue was, as its name suggests, a former garment factory. The building is approximately 60 years old. There are 163 units in the building, spread over 8 floors. The first 4 floors are a hard loft conversion, and the top 4 floors are a soft loft addition. Suites range from 450 to 1,300 square feet. Some unique features include concrete floors, exposed concrete ceilings up to 11 ft, and large warehouse windows.
About Leslieville
Leslieville began as a small village back in the 1850s named after George Leslie, the owner of Toronto Nurseries (a lucrative business that occupied over 150 acres). Leslieville’s older houses were built in the late 1800s. They include Ontario cottages, Second Empire row houses and Victorian houses. Second generation houses were built in the early 1900s and comprised of detached and semi-detached houses as the tiniest bungalows in Toronto.
