About the Loft

Forest Hill Lofts was converted by the Goldman Group in 2002. The massive Art Deco style building was built in 1930 as the Canadian headquarters of Coats Paton, a textile firm famous for its Beehive brand knitting yarn. In fact, the original limestone entrance has bumblebee carved in stone. Hard Loft features include 13 ft concrete ceilings, concrete floors, fluted concrete columns, exposed ducts, 10 ft warehouse window walls, and large open plans with raised mezzanines & built-in storage. Many of the units also include a private roof-top terrace.

About Fairbank

Fairbank is named after the former "Fairbank" farm, which had been owned by a pioneer settler named Matthew Parsons. This neighbourhood began with a one room school house which was built in the 1860's and followed by a hotel, a post office, a church and a handful of stores. Fairbank contains an interesting mix of early 1900's working class houses, postwar brick and stucco bungalows, and new home developments.
