About the Loft - Originally designed by architect James Walker, and built in 1911 for B.F. Harvey Co. Bedding Factory, this beautiful century old heritage-designated building was converted to the Feather Factory Lofts by Plazacorp in 2009. With only 44 units over six floors, this classic post, brick and beam hard loft continues to be in high demand, in the prime Roncesvalles neighbourhood.
About the Neighbourhood - Roncesvalles was originally settled by Colonel Walter O’Hara in 1850. O’Hara was wounded and captured by the French in the Roncesvalles Gorge in northern Spain; hence the name Roncesvalles. The development of the present-day neighbourhood was spurred on by the street-car, which came to this area in the early 1900s. Roncesvalles was a family-oriented neighbourhood right from the start.
